New Hampshire Community Loan Fund Gets a Welcome Gift in Lean Times
Concord, NH – Sequoya Technologies donated a new Lenovo IdeaPad "netbook" (small, internet-capable laptop) to the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund. The Community Loan Fund, a statewide nonprofit based in Concord, was designated by Bortech Corporation to receive donations through Sequoya's charitable donation program, and they have so far used their credits for five webcams and some computer memory in addition to the netbook.
"In these economic times, there's increasing demand for our services," said Community Loan Fund Vice President Alan Cantor. "At the same time, many of our funders are feeling the pain themselves, so we have to budget very carefully and work ever more efficiently and effectively. This is why Sequoya's gift is such a wonderful boost for us."
Through Sequoya's innovative donation program, clients can designate any non-profit organization in the Monadnock region to receive a donation from Sequoya on its behalf. Bortech, a Sequoya client since 2004, designated the Community Loan Fund when the program was introduced in late 2007. Since then, Sequoya has credited the Community Loan Fund's account every month with a donation equal to 5% of Bortech's ITSentry™ plan fee. Over time, those credits can really add up.
"It's nice knowing that along with solid IT support for our business, a portion of the cost is going to help a local non-profit we care about," said Leo White, President of Bortech Corporation.
Community Loan Fund employees needed project continuity while traveling. Sequoya provided a netbook that would meet their needs, and the cost was covered entirely by their accumulated donation credits—they received the netbook absolutely free.
"We're so grateful to Sequoya and Bortech for making this available to the Community Loan Fund," said Cantor. "This new machine will make staff members traveling on business vastly more efficient and effective. We're simply thrilled."
