Computer Recycling Program
In cooperation with the ConVal High School Applied Technology Center, we give our clients' old business computers a second life and put them to work in the community.
How it works:
- Sequoya clients bring their retired equipment to us.
- We complete a high-security erasure of functional hard drives or physically destroy non-functional drives.
- Clients receive documentation of the process listing equipment serial numbers and attesting that all data has been erased.
- Once they've cleared that process, computers are delivered in batches to the ATC where students inspect the equipment to determine if it can be rebuilt and distributed, or whether it should be used for parts.
- Any needed repairs are made, and new operating systems installed.
- The rebuilt equipment is donated to schools, libraries, and other nonprofit organizations in the community at no cost. It is also planned that some systems will be placed for sale in the ConVal Corner Store at a nominal cost. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the store and the rest will be used to purchase parts and equipment for the continuation of the program.
Installing your own DSL?
Most providers include a CD that allows you to install your new DSL modem. Unfortunately, their CD will also install a lot of unnecessary software that you may prefer...
